But before you can treat yourself, you need to know which recipe to prepare. If you're fed up with pasta salads, here are 4 quick and easy summer salad ideas, plus all our tips for serving your salads and keeping them fresh.

  1. The timeless Greek salad

This is the queen of summer salads. From the very first bite, you'll be transported to the shores of the Mediterranean. And to impress your guests, you can serve your Greek salad in our Santorini salad bowl, inspired by the most famous of the Greek islands and its blue roofs.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tomates
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 yellow onion
  • ½ cucumber
  • ½ citron
  • 120 g feta cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Preparation :

Finely dice the tomatoes and place in a glass salad bowl. Then add the green pepper, sliced into strips, the cucumber and the olives.

Thinly slice the onion and mix with the other ingredients. Place the diced feta cheese on top of your Greek salad.

Finally, squeeze the lemon to extract the juice and season with olive oil, oregano, salt and pepper.

  1. The delicious lentil salad

There's nothing like a lentil salad to delight your taste buds. Rich in iron, calcium and magnesium, this superfood will delight you... and keep you healthy! The best part is that with your Duralex® Freshbox, you can keep your lentil salad in the fridge for up to 5 days. Enough to make the pleasure last!

Ingredients:

  • 240 g green lentils
  • 100 g feta
  • 14 dried tomato petals
  • A few green salad leaves
  • Balsamic vinegar

Preparation :

Bring a pan of salted water to the boil. Pour in the lentils and cook for 20 to 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, wash and spin-dry your salad. In a glass salad bowl with a lid, add a few salad leaves, then the feta cheese and sun-dried tomatoes.

When your lentils are cooked, drain them and rinse them in cold water. Then add them to your salad bowl. Mix and season with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

  1. The dazzling red cabbage salad

Crunchy and colourful, red cabbage salad is rich in antioxidants. But it's the subtle, almost slightly sweet taste that makes it so popular. For a colourful picnic, you can serve your red cabbage salad in our Lys vert jungle salad bowl, or in the timeless Le Gigogne® salad bowl .

Ingredients:

  • ½ chou rouge
  • 1 carrot
  • 30 grams of walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Persil

Preparation :

Cut your red cabbage half into thin strips. Peel and grate your carrot. Then crush your walnuts.

For your vinaigrette, mix 3 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp sherry vinegar and 1 tsp mustard.

In a salad bowl, add the red cabbage, carrot, walnuts and chopped parsley. Then pour your vinaigrette over the mixture. Mix well and set aside in the fridge for 30 minutes.

  1. The tasty green bean salad

It's not the best-known summer salad recipe, but it is. Tasty, healthy and easy to prepare, this green bean salad will delight young and old alike. You can serve it in a Lys glass salad bowl with a lid. For a salad that keeps better and longer.

Ingredients:

  • 400 g haricots verts
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 red onion
  • 6 tomates cerises
  • 2 eggs
  • Parsley, chopped
  • Garlic powder

Preparation :

Peel the green beans. Then peel and slice the potatoes. Cook the green beans and potatoes in a casserole dish.

Meanwhile, wash your tomatoes. Cut them into quarters, then peel your onion and cut into thin slices.

Cook your eggs for 10 minutes. Then crumble the egg yolk over the mixture. Mix everything together in a bowl, then add the garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil and vinegar.

How to store your salads?

It's all very well to make a good salad, but it's just as important to preserve it properly! To do this, it's best to use a glass storage tin because :

➡️ Duralex® glass is healthier. It contains no harmful chemicals, just natural materials sourced almost exclusively from France and whose origin is verified and controlled. And unlike plastic, there's no risk of transferring particles into your food!

➡️ Glass tins are also more environmentally friendly than plastic containers. They never wear out, and are (very) easy to wash.

➡️ Last but not least, glass is resistant to cold and heat, guaranteeing that your preservation box will not warp and will retain its qualities for many years to come.

Now you know everything! All that's left is for us to wish you bon appétit and a great summer with Duralex® Freshboxes glass salad bowls and storage boxes. At your side every day, for ever!
